hull maintenance
Our expert divers use approved and patented hull surface cleaning machines that are globally recognized as the most effective means to recuperate vessels performance and service speed.
Advance cleaning techniques and equipment ensure that no damage is caused to the most delicate of anti-fouling systems, such as silicone and other soft-coated paints.
Marine Environmental Protection
We take environmental protection seriously. The benefits of hull cleaning on vessel performance are well recognized, but greater fuel efficiency is not our only environmental concern.
We are also 100% committed to protecting the Marine Environment and over the past 60 years have developed a unique approach to hull cleaning that ensures minimal ecological impact. Our tried and tested hull cleaning machinery adheres to the hull via the intense suction force created by its central impeller which also directs fouling through its impeller tunnel and therefore destroys harmful invasive marine species. The debris is then converted into a fine residue which is safely returned to the sea as sand ultimately limiting the impact to the local marine environment. These machines are designed to clean major submerged hull areas and in the expert hands of Scamp divers will reduce underwater cleaning times significantly proving to be much more efficient and practical than any debris collecting system reducing ships commercially inactive periods to a minimum.

Our advanced equipment has a triple head brush arrangement with a unique scything action, which provides powerful cleaning with no adverse effects on AF systems surfaces.
The unique clamping impeller in the center of the Scamp machine allows brushes to rotate from zero to 120 rpm’s, this distinctive feature not only provides an opportunity for excellent cleaning, but also processes 99% of the Scamp cleaned detached marine growth as it is drawn through the central impeller channel ultimately vitiating the removed fouling & returning it to its original medium as harmless marine residue in that way greatly reducing the environmental concerns on the propagation of invasive species.

Hullwiper by Scamp ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) is a hull cleaning machine which utilizes High Pressure Water Jet cleaning system, which preserves vessel’s top coating and proactively removes marine fouling ranging from slime to calcareous growth, which is automatically recollected by means of a fouling recovery system.
The ROV is powered by a 37Kw electric motor converting it into hydraulic power to operate the ROV to allow an in-depth hull cleaning on all areas required. The ROV can also carry out photographic and video inspections of vessel’s hull and marine fouling condition, providing instant photographic and video imagery onsite.
