"...SCAMPTANK is the newest, safest, fastest and most advanced method to carry out NDE and special close-up surveys of tanks. The concept can be used in any onboard tanks that contain water and/or spaces (double hull)." |

Cost-effective service The results are remarkable and cost-effective. During trials carried out with LRS, the method has proven to be twice as fast as any other survey technique available, producing double the results in terms of both video data for close visual inspection and NDE ultrasonic thickness measurements (UTM) and reference points being within a few millimetres. Documentation The SCAMPTANK consists of a system surface monitor, which
incorporates a video overlay that holds all vital data such as depth,
position and thickness measurements. The data is simultaneously recorded
on the video and the areas examined can be very easily identified
afterwards for closer examination or repairs. The system also provides the
surveyor and/or clients with hardcopy of thickness measurements and
locations. How it works The SCAMPTANK equipment enables the class surveyor or NDE
Scamp supervisor to receive closed circuit television close-up images of
the internal structures of the tank using different types of lights and a
low light video system providing better vision resolution than the human
eye. The NDE Scamp diver moves very easily and safely around the tank
filled with water and takes NDT ultrasonic thickness measurements (UTM) of
the structures and shell plating at the same time as carrying out the
close-up CCTV survey and/or class surveyor. |
